Leh third day

I had never tried rafting so a few days before the end of season I managed to join a one day rafting on the Zanskar Valley. It was really great fun even though I imagine the waters and rapids are much faster in late spring, early summer where all the snow melts from the surrounding mountains. Still what was most amazing as usual here in Ladakh was the stark scenery that for three hours I had the luck to see passing me by. A lunar landscape of towering red mountains of rocks and sand rising steeply from the fresh blue waters of the river. The only sound coming from the breeze and the water gushing, otherwise great silence.
